Nathan’s patent practice includes preparation and prosecution of domestic and international applications in technical areas including: enterprise communication and operation, network security, management, and/or devices; wireless communication, cloud computing, and data storage; semiconductor and solid state drive operation, and Flash memory; Building Information Modeling (BIM); Financial and business methods and e-commerce; imaging processing software and dental imaging software; medical devices; biotechnology; among other fields.  He is experienced in counseling clients related to freedom to operate, claim chart analysis, licensing, patent disputes, etc.  While working post-undergraduate as an Assistant Scientist at the University of Minnesota in Dermatology, Nathan’s research resulted in several co-authored scientific publications related to breast and skin cancer, cancer pain, tick-borne infections, multiple sclerosis and cutaneous neural-immune interactions.  During law school, Nathan clerked in the Corporate Patents Department at Medtronic where he gained legal and business experience in regulatory affairs, trademark and copyright law, domestic and international patent law, patent prosecution, due diligence analysis and pre-litigation preparation.
