Erin attended Marquette University, receiving degrees in physics and psychology. During her time as an undergraduate, she participated in research involving positrons, including helping facilitate a collaboration with ETH Zurich. As a Pre-Law Scholar, Erin stayed at Marquette for law school. Erin was a staff member of the Marquette Intellectual Property Law Review and her comment regarding notification practices of the United States Copyright Office was published in the Winter 2014 issue. During her time in law school, Erin was involved in multiple pro bono projects, completing enough hours to be inducted into the Pro Bono Society. Erin spent a year as a clerk at an intellectual property firm in Milwaukee before serving as a judicial intern for the Hon. Rudolph T. Randa of the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
