Following receipt of his doctorate, Kevin held an appointment as Assistant Professor and Director of Immunobiology and Apoptosis Research at the University of Minnesota Biotherapy Institute, after which he became the Director of Cell Biology and Immunobiology at the offshoot biomedical research Hughes Institute. Kevin participated for more than twenty-two years in scientific investigations related primarily to cancer research and therapies of immune disorders that utilized innovative methodologies in areas such as immunology, radiobiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and flow cytometry.
