While pursuing his Bachelors Degree in Biology, Jim worked on a research project in Queensland Australia that studied the aquaculture and commercialization of aquatic species. Following the receipt of his degree, Jim worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Office of Environmental Services where he created a GIS database of living and structural snow control emplacements across the state. After studying law at William Mitchell, Jim worked as a patent intern for Leeds Forensic Systems, Inc., helping secure patent protection for a multi-wavelength forensic viewing and image-capturing system.
