Brooks, Cameron & Huebsch, PLLC:
Promoting Greater Diversity in STEM Education and IP Practice
Learn more about how the team at Brooks, Cameron & Huesbch, PLLC is promoting and advancing diversity in the practice of Intellectual Property Law. In this Women in Law edition, Attorney at Law Magazine interviews members of the BCH Team to hear the perspectives on experience and building a team with an eye on changing the profile of those who work in the field of Intellectual Property Law.
Brooks, Cameron & Huebsch, PLLC is pleased to announce that Partner, Katie Thueringer has been named a Notable Executive in DEI by the Twin Cities Business Magazine. Patent Law is a highly specialized field that requires a science degree, law degree, passing of the State Bar as well as the Patent Bar. Knowing the deficit of women and minorities in the sciences and in law one can imagine the difficulty of recruiting and supporting individuals who are not widely represented in a field. Under the guidance of Katie, our team seeks to recruit, hire and mentor a diverse group of talented people.
Brooks, Cameron & Huebsch, PLLC would like to congratulate all of the newest Twin Cities Diversity in Practice (TCDIP) attorneys who have recently been promoted into a leadership role. We congratulate the 17 attorneys who received a noteworthy promotion including two of our own valued members: Jae Hun Kim & Pedro E. Puga. TCDIP’s mission is to help attract, recruit, advance, and retain attorneys of color in the Twin Cities. BCH is a proud supporter of this mission.
Having a diverse and robust team with people from many backgrounds has always been important to us. It was part of our fiber at the beginning and continues to inform our practice at present.
Brooks, Cameron & Huebsch , PLLC maintains a long-standing commitment to diversity through eliminating bias and enhancing inclusion in the practice of Intellectual Property Law. While 2020 brought great attention to the disparities and social injustice in our communities and society at large, our team has been well ahead of these efforts and has been ABA Model Diversity Survey Compliant since 2017.
With eyes on Race, Inclusion & Social Equity (RAISE), BCH continues its commitment to allyship in the way we hire and in the way we work. Our goal has always been to RAISE the bar in Intellectual Property Law.
Please meet some of our Allyship Panelists.
At BCH it's just what we believe. It is how we have always done business, how we have hired, how we mentor and build our team. We don't know it all and none of our experiences are the same, but we do care and we aren't afraid to ask. We learn through our relationships. And in learning from each other, we all do better.
