Emma attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where she received degrees in Biochemistry and Chemistry, as well as a minor in Biology. While attending the University of Minnesota-Duluth, Emma worked in a research lab that focused primarily on proteins and their interaction with heavy metals such as manganese and copper. Before pursuing patent law, Emma worked in regulatory analysis for water purification systems. Emma received her Master of Science in Patent Law from the University of Minnesota Law School.
