Energy technology includes traditional forms of power, such as coal, oil, nuclear, and natural gas and alternative energy sources such as wind, hydroelectric, chemical, replenishable (sustainable forestation, power from biomaterials), and solar. Energy technology also encompasses conversion from one energy type to another (e.g., solar to electrical) and storage of energy, such as short term and long term battery storage.
